Teaching Benefits: Technology in education is a major advancement that provides a different approach to help professors to facilitate the teaching process to students. Technology makes it possible to be creative in presenting information effectively. Faculty now can take advantage of the presentation software and electronic communication in their lectures to create a learning environment that is efficient and effective. Presentation software such as PowerPoint is commonly used by professors to illustrate class notes, visual aid, chart, and graphs for class lectures to help present information in a clear and concise manner. In addition, PowerPoint helps professors to explain difficult subjects easier than to use chalkboard as Ferreira (p.12) states it allows to compare different types of image. For example, multiple similar images, graphs, tables, diagrams and pictures are easier to compare and view on the slides. Ellis-Monaghan (p.2) took one step further to add animation and flash demonstration to her PowerPoint slides to better engage students’ attention. Format for presenting information to students slightly changed over the course of time from chalkboard to presentation software allowing professors to present information resourcefully and effectively. Due to the effectiveness of the traditional class discussion and limited class time, professors are now taking a step further to include online discussion outside of the class to encourage students to engage interactions between students and professor by incorporating electronic blackboard.
